Gauge

Introduction to Gauge Solutions

A machine vision gauging system measures distances between two or more points on an object to verify that they meet specifications. If the measurements do not meet the criteria, the system sends a fail signal to the machine controller, activating a reject mechanism that ejects the object from the line.

Measurement tools help establish reliable feature-based thresholds. These tools output quantitative information, either in pixels or real-world units, for the following parameters:

Arising Issues Without Gauging Systems
lower cost

Product fails to meet standards due to dimensional inaccuracies

changing business

Costly and time-consuming corrections required after product completion

Reduced customer satisfaction when receiving substandard products

Difficult to ensure consistency

Applications & Cases

3D Gap & Flush Inspection

3D vision technology checks the tolerances of manufactured parts, ensuring that they fall within acceptable limits. 3D vision systems can also be used to analyze complex components, like those used in electronics or precision engineering. For those applications, they assess and verify complex geometries that are difficult to measure with traditional methods.

EV Battery Electrode Solutions

3D laser displacement sensors offer the speed and accuracy necessary to measure the profiles of electrode-coated end faces. They can continuously measure black electrode coatings, even when wet, to detect any waves in real time.
